The 2026-27 season celebrates RCCA’s 43rd concert season, featuring another great selection of artistic talent from many genres – diversity with superb entertainment value that appeals to all ages.

ALIAS BRASS

October 4, 2026

Founded in 2013, the Alias Brass Company is a premier ensemble of five world-class artists dedicated to redefining the chamber music experience. Described as “the only name for music innovation,” their performances seamlessly blend virtuosic musicianship with high-energy entertainment, spanning everything from Baroque and Jazz to modern Pop. A true international sensation, Alias Brass has dazzled audiences from the Banff Centre for the Arts to the International Horn Symposium in Brazil, headlining major festivals and concert series across North and South America. With a mission centered on inclusivity and education, they combine diverse global styles into a captivating journey that ensures classical music remains vibrant, accessible, and thrilling for everyone.

ULTIMI

Ultimi combines the vocal and instrumental talents of Isaac Hurtado, Tyler Nelson, and Brian Stucki. Joining forces in 2014, these three tenors have separately performed well over 100 operatic tenor roles and sung in numerous concerts across the US and abroad to critical acclaim. They’ve had leading roles in operas such as “Rigoletto,” “Madama Butterfly,” and “La Traviata,” and performed with premier orchestras such as the San Francisco Symphony and recognized vocal groups such as the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. Brian Stucki, a renowned cellist, adds depth and color with his instrumental accompaniment. 

Individually, critics describe them as “superb” and “heaven-sent,” with “money-notes worth every penny” and “movie star good looks.” Together, the three create music with a synergy reminiscent of the original Three Tenors with voices of immense power, flexibility, and range.

JUDY CARMICHAEL TRIO

Grammy-nominated pianist, vocalist, and celebrated NPR host Judy Carmichael is one of the world’s leading interpreters of stride and swing piano. Nicknamed “Stride” by the legendary Count Basie, Judy is a trailblazing Steinway Artist who has captivated audiences from Carnegie Hall to posh nightclubs in Paris and Melbourne. Whether she is channeling the “breathy invitingness” of Peggy Lee or dazzling with her technically demanding piano style, her performances are a masterclass in jazz history and infectious personality. Beyond the stage, she has spent 25 years producing her acclaimed radio show Jazz Inspired, authored several books including her memoir Swinger!, and remains a quintessential figure in the global jazz landscape.

MADS TOLLING AND THE MADS MEN

Led by two-time Grammy Award-winning violinist and DownBeat Critics Poll winner Mads Tolling and The Mads Men deliver an electrifying reimagination of the 1960s soundtrack. Originally from Denmark and a former member of the Turtle Island Quartet and Stanley Clarke’s band, Tolling has performed with legends like Chick Corea and Bob Weir, bringing a world-class pedigree to this high-energy ensemble. The quartet features a powerhouse lineup of Bay Area virtuosos, including pianist Colin Hogan, who has performed on five continents with icons like James Moody; versatile bassist and composer Sam Bevan, a veteran of the jazz and folk scenes known for his work with David Grisman and Joshua Redman; and drummer Eric Garland, a prolific composer and collaborator with Bobby McFerrin. Together, they transform classic themes from 1960s film, TV, and radio—such as Mission: Impossible and Hawaii 5-0—into sophisticated jazz arrangements. Having graced stages from the Hollywood Bowl to Radio City Music Hall, Mads Tolling & The Mads Men offer a nostalgic yet boundary-pushing concert experience that bridges the gap between classic swing and modern innovation.

SOLOMON JAYE

Blending multi-octave vocals with world-class tap dancing, Solomon Jaye’s TAP INTO SOUL offers an electrifying new take on a timeless genre, featuring a soulful setlist that spans from the 1950s to today’s chart-toppers. From the legendary grooves of James Brown and Stevie Wonder to the contemporary hits of Bruno Mars and Teddy Swims, the show transports audiences through a high-energy journey punctuated by Jaye’s virtuosic footwork and surprise instrumental solos. Having collaborated with a parade of Grammy winners and Broadway stars—including Pentatonix, Jessie J, and Shoshana Bean—Solomon Jaye brings an incredible cross-genre mashup of music, dance, and infectious energy to the stage that is simply not to be missed.
